We had the best day ever and a big contributing factor to that was being able to have a ceremony that reflected our views and beliefs and allowed us to authentically stand in front of our friends and family and make our vows.

Heather and Paul’s Humanist Wedding at Boturich Castle
We’re basking in the most wonderful heatwave right now, and Paul and Heather chose the perfect day to marry high on a hill above Loch Lomond. Before jetting off on their honeymoon, Paul sent me this old-skool Polaroid, and this lovely message. I know Heather has already been in touch but I just wanted to … Continue Reading
Gavin & Natasha’s Humanist Wedding at a private house in Edinburgh
It was back in September 2011 that Natasha and Gavin first got in touch, and perhaps it was because their wedding was only a few months away that unlike most couples, Natasha was very clear about what she wanted from the start. She told me that she’d already booked a pianist and a violinist, and she … Continue Reading
Heather & Mike’s Humanist Wedding in The Playfair Library
I got some lovely cards this Christmas, but my favourite came from Heather and Mike. Unlike normal people, they didn’t send me Jpegs, but instead posted proper photographic prints, with captions hand-written on the back. This one said, “This pretty much sums up the feedback we got on our ceremony! The best endorsement was to … Continue Reading
Keren & Woody’s Humanist Wedding at Pollockshields Burgh Hall
There was a lot to love about this wedding, not least the way it started, when Woody came in with his mum and dad on each arm. In a traditional ceremony, the groom’s parents are just two more guests; this is a subtle way of saying, “I’ve got a family too, and they’re … Continue Reading
Steven & Gillian’s Humanist Wedding at Gean House

She chose the venue (a cinema) and the film, Blade 2, a Wesley Snipes Vampire Horror romp because she was trying to be cool and impress Steven, who looked very cool … Continue Reading
Jo & Tosh’s Humanist Wedding at Broxmouth Park
reading the ceremony reminded me of all the ways in which a humanist wedding can be made uniquely personal.
Nik & Becky’s humanist wedding at Pollokshields Burgh Hall

Ian & Gill’s Humanist Wedding at Kaim Park Hotel
When Ian and Gill finally got back to the “real world” after their wonderful honeymoon in St Lucia they sent me this message to say thanks… We had the most amazing day, our ceremony was just as we had wanted it to be, personal to us, very moving and also at times very entertaining! Never before … Continue Reading
Juls & John’s Humanist Wedding at Ravensheugh Beach
The wild and wonderful Ravensheugh Beach is becoming very popular for weddings, not least because you can camp there, have a bonfire and invite all your friends to pitch in. This particular sticky out bit of coastline just south of North Berwick has a unique micro-climate that makes it one of the sunniest spots in … Continue Reading
