The ancestral home of the Duke of Lauderdale, Thirlestane Castle is a spectacular house in the Scottish Borders, and as you can see in this trailer by Scott Mackenzie it made a majestic setting for Gill and Daniel’s wedding!
I was very touched that Gillian chose me to conduct her wedding. We’d met when I conducted the funeral of her beloved step-father, “Mond” for whom she wrote a beautiful tribute, so that connection just made the day even more special for me too.
As she said when she sent me these great photos by Ricky Baillie, “Our wedding was about more than just the day itself. It was a reflection of the journey we had been on together and a way to acknowledge our commitment to one another.
Looking back, the LoveWork Tim encouraged us to undertake at the start of our wedding preparations helped us relive the early days, the fun days, the challenging days, and most importantly the best days.”
Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for and more.
We shared a weekend of celebrations with our nearest and dearest, creating memories that will stay with us forever.
Our ceremony told our story and allowed us to celebrate love, joy, tears, and laughter together.
Since our wedding, many people have asked, “has anything changed?”
Fundamentally, the sincere answer is no.
However, our wedding day symbolised a shared passion: our love for one another.
Every day since, we continue to celebrate each other, through the hard times and the best times.
The vows we personally wrote will guide us on our forever journey together.
(And you can hear Daniel’s secret vow if you watch the trailer above…)
Tim provided the foundation and platform for us to be able to create these memories, and for that, we will be eternally grateful.
I also got this lovely message from Gillian just after she and Daniel got back from the castle.
“Although we’re a little weary, we are truly delighted and grateful for how special our day was. The ceremony was perfect and so many people have commented on how beautiful it was. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.”
I can only say thank you in return, Gill – not just for your beautiful words, but also for bringing back my fountain pen, which – in all the excitement – I completely forgot about and left on the table above!
So – thank you once again, Daniel and Gill for allowing me to be part of the celebration of your love for one another. Never forget those promises that you made to one another, with hearts full of love.
Thanks too to Scott Mackenzie for the beautiful moving images, and to Ricky Baillie for the gorgeous stills.
