Caitlyn & Cameron’s Humanist Wedding at Carlowrie Castle

Is “dogcentric” a word? It should be, because that’s what Cameron and Caitlyn’s wedding was!

Charlie, Edward and Flynn definitely deserved the title of Best Dogs, and they were part of quite a procession in the garden of Carlowrie Castle on one of the most glorious days of the summer!

A wedding brings two families together to create a third, so I loved that the first person to come down the aisle was Cameron, who came in with his mum and dad, Ailsa & Craig.

As Stefanie & Andrew Black (AKA Ginny and The Tonic) played Turning Page – Sleeping at Last (from Twilight),

Caitlyn’s Man of Honour – who just to make things more complicated is also called Cameron – came in with the Best Man, the groom’s brother, Ross.

After that, it was a proper Busby Berkeley style boy meets girl extravaganza as all the bridesmaids and groomsmen came in together – Jack & Gemma, Adam & Aileigh, Phil & Megan.

And although they’re not all in this shot, Caitlyn came in with her mum Jillian, and her dad, Jamie.

Caitlyn & Cameron did one of my all-time favourite things.

Rather than have me tell their story, they invited their wedding party to do that instead, and it was brilliant!

Speaking in the first person, Man of Honour Cameron kicked off with, “I first met you on the 3rd night of freshers. We had just left a beach party event which consisted of lays, sunglasses and a lot of box wine. Needless to say, I don’t remember much from that night…”

Best Man Ross came right back with, “the first thing that hit me was those beautiful green eyes and your freckles/dimples in that flowery dress. I remember feeling like I wanted to kiss you but couldn’t pluck up the courage”

Gemma reminded everyone that their first proper date was a romantic dinner at the one and only Frankie and Benny’s!

It’s such a great idea to get your wedding party to tell ‘the story of us’.

There’s nobody who knows it better, and it just makes it even more personal!

Six years of dating later, Cameron planned the perfect proposal by organising a picnic at a favourite place, roping in MOH Cameron who hid in the bushes to take pictures!

C&C scored more gold stars from me by inviting both their dads to give readings before it was time for a rather special ring bearer to make an entrance… that’s Caitlyn’s brother Corey and their dog Parker, in case you were wondering!

Cameron and Caitlyn know how to heighten the excitement, so they kept their vows a secret until the day…

And once I had pronounced them married…

They signed their Marriage Schedule with their mums as witnesses.

Fabulous hat shot, from ace lensman, Ricky Baillie!

It really was a perfect day in every sense – and a rare one in this rather dreich summer!

I was really pleased when Caitlyn told me she’d got her photos and said, “Once again, we can’t thank you enough for all your help and guidance!”

We loved our day and the ceremony was just perfect .

One of the best parts was our ceremony.

We loved how personal we made it and we’re so glad we followed your advice to include our friends telling our story!

So many people have complimented us on the ceremony and said it’s one of the best weddings they have ever been to because we made it so personal.

We loved your humour throughout too.

It was even more perfect than we could have imagined!

It really was, wasn’t it, Caitlyn & Cameron! I loved how you flexed your imagination, involved your family and friends and really made the ceremony your own, so of course I’m delighted that everyone loved it!

Thanks again for the kind words – and thanks to Ricky for the great pics too!
