Sophie and Neal’s Humanist wedding in the Royal Botanic Garden

Sophie & Neal had real luck with the weather when they came up from London to marry here in Edinburgh at the Royal Botanic Garden, just along the road from Stockbridge, where Neal grew up.

I loved how they invited one of their friends to read the poem he’d written, which involved contributions from many of their friends too.

I’m looking forward to getting some more pics from Claire Tennant who took these great shots, because Neal and Sophie had lots of great ideas that I’d like to share with you, but in the meantime, here’s their take on their big day.

We just wanted to drop you a line now that we are back from our honeymoon to thank you for conducting our marriage ceremony. We had the best day ever and a big contributing factor to that was being able to have a ceremony that reflected our views and beliefs and allowed us to authentically stand in front of our friends and family and make our vows. Your warm and humourous style was exactly what we wanted and many, many people commented what a great ceremony it was and how good you were. I think a few may get in touch over the next few years as they get engaged!

Thank you, Sophie, Neal and Daisy – can’t wait to see more!
