As for so many people, my Instagram account has become a kind of visual diary.
I try to take at least one shot per day, but I have rules.
I never take a shot of the bride and groom on their wedding day – that’s strictly for the professionals.
And I like to feature the people and places I work with.
Other than that, it comes down to the luck of the day, but it’s always fun to put the frames from my Instagram Stories together to see what I’ve been up to. For instance, that shot above comes from Kay and Blair’s wedding. He brought this enormous box of tissues… and because he’d had the foresight to bring them, they were never opened!
Here are a few from 2023 – let me know if you’re in one!
I love that shot from Imogen and Lewis’s wedding day don’t you? It’s these little details that catch my eye.
Lots of couples want their dog to be part of their wedding, but Cristina and Marc live in Barcelona, so that wasn’t possible. It was so sweet that they brought along a little model of Sherpa so he could be with them symbolically.
It was great to be able to capture the little twists that couples bring, like Tequila for the Quaich Ceremony
Or Tunnack’s Tea Cakes instead of wedding cake, and Jami and Scott’s leather-bound vow books.
It’s always a joy to meet couples I’ve married at someone else’s wedding
Or to see one of my couples featured in Your Scottish Weddings Magazine
It’s been quite a year – if you want to see what I see in 2024, why don’t you subscribe to me on Instagram here?
Thanks for reading – I wish you a happy and peaceful 2024!
